Up in #2 consists of two white circles on gold and black rectangles. Tension is created where the black and gold squares meet. Hammersley had a similar work in the Four Abstract Classicists exhibition titled Unlike (1959). The use of the two circles and rectangles was a theme he explored consistently throughout his career.
