“I like the wide, open spaces, the shape of the mountains, the contrasts of red mountains against teal green sagebrush,” Weaver said of his paintings. This large panel captures Weaver’s love of contrasting color and his appreciation for the whimsical. Probably named for Valley of the Gods, a scenic area near Monument Valley in Southern Utah, Weaver exaggerates the already fantastical spires into an elaborate red rock playground.
