George Dibble and Calvin Fletcher both taught at Utah Universities and were united in their championing of modernism to the Utah public. A faculty member at the University of Utah, Dibble was primarily a watercolorist, skilled at capturing the essence of objects in blocky shapes and gestural brushstrokes. Dibble’s focus on rural homes and landscapes reflects a similar Regionalist impulse to Calvin.
