Some people believe photographs can capture the paranormal; Ghosts is artist LA-based artist Darryl Curran’s attempt to recreate this phenomenon. Using a double-exposed vintage family negative, Curran creates a ghostly effect intended to shock. A master of experimental techniques, Curran’s double exposure includes a bust resembling Abraham Lincoln in a nod to a famous “spirit photograph” taken in 1872 that seemed to show the ghost of the assassinated president standing behind his grieving widow, Mary Todd.
