Frank Romero came to prominence in the 1970s as a member of Los Four, a group of Chicano activist artists. More than any other former member, Romero continues to reference happenings substantial to Chicanos in Los Angeles. A self-professed car lover, Ford Sedan is one of a series of works by the artist featuring now-classic vehicles. Romero’s kinetic, gestural style and vibrant colors render the sensation of a fleeting memory or a fond construct of American car culture.
