The American West is dotted with ghost towns and abandoned settlements whose stories remain embedded in the landscape. Edward Weston’s “E” Town, New Mexico was shot near the Elizabethtown ghost town in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico. The black and white photograph focuses on a single church–once the vibrant center of village life, now an eerie specter on an empty plain.
