Calvin’s great love for color is evident in this view of a snowy walk along the road bordering First Dam at the base of Logan Canyon. Despite the composition depicting a snowy winter’s day, the scene is awash with color. The crystalline blue sky and water contrast sharply with the orange foliage of the plants lining the riverbank. The snow also sparkles in rainbow hues, as does the muddy path, shimmering with the moisture of melting snow.
