Cache Valley artist “Ev” Thorpe had a deep interest in the history of the West. This painting depicts two Indigenous men meditatively turning towards the sky. It references the spiritual beliefs of Southwestern Native Americans which are deeply tied to the land, specifically the Diné Bahaneʼ, a Navajo story that explains the creation of the sun and the moon.
