Calvin was known for experimenting across styles; this piece combines Impressionist brushwork in vivid colors with Calvin’s fondness for agricultural scenes. Despite his facility working in an Impressionist vein, Calvin progressed on to other, more cubist styles in the early 1940’s and 50’s.
