In contrast to Moser’s almost fluorescent tones, Larsen employs an earthy, natural palette. Although both paintings seem to be set in a similar landscape and season, Larsen’s seems imbued with calm, while Moser’s is a buzzing celebration of mountain foliage. Larsen lived in many places across state, from Cove to Green River, and was a prolific painter of Utah landscapes.
