Tim Mather’s Vessel with Yellow Top is a slip-cast porcelain assemblage of industrial-looking components that resembles a stylized pouring vessel. The cylindrical body has a long, narrow spout and hooklike handle with an opening resembling a small funnel attached to the top. The piece has been raku fired, giving it a mottled grey-brown and metallic finish with contrasting areas of bright yellow added, a treatment that links the lid and the tip of the spout.
