Robert Bennett
Ceramicist
American,
(1952–2003)
Born in American Fork, Utah in 1952, Bennett received his Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He went on to be a production potter as well as a designer and builder of high fire electric kilns. Bennett is best known for his wheel-thrown, functional pottery that is both simple in form and complex in surface through his mastery of crystalline glazes. These glazes require precise firing schedules to allow the signature crystal formations to grow within the glaze, producing large blooms with vivid hues of various colors.
