American, (1918–2002)
Clinton Adams was born in Glendale, California in 1918. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles before serving in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. When he returned, Adams taught art at the University of California Los Angeles. He was also chairman for the art departments at the University of Kentucky, and the University of Florida. In 1961, he became the Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico until his retirement in 1985. Adams died in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2002.
