American, (1921–1997)
George Stillman was born in Laramie, Wyoming in 1921. He attended Chaffey College, Alta Loma, University of California Berkeley, Museum of Modern Art, New York University, California School of Fine Arts, and Arizona State University, Tempe. In 1950, Stillman taught at the University of Guadalajara before moving to Washington. He became a professor of art, emeritus, and served as the Chairman of the Art Department at Central Washington State University. He died in Ellensburg, Washington in 1997.
