American, (1932–2018)
Kathryn Metz was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1932. She attended Bowling Green State University, the University of California Los Angeles and Atelier 17 in Paris. She taught at Phoenix College in Arizona, the New York University School of Education, the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, the University of California Extension in Los Angeles, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. She became Professor Emerita after retiring in 1992. Metz died in Santa Cruz, California in 2018.
