Swiss/American, (1886–1975)
Conrad Buff was born in Speicher, Switzerland in 1886. He attended the School of Art and Crafts in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and the Art Students League of Los Angeles. Buff held many different jobs but continued to paint. In 1922, he married his wife Mary and they created children’s books until 1968. His artwork is exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Museum of American Art. He died in Laguna Hills, California in 1975.
