Byron Temple

American, (1933–2002)


Byron Temple was born in Centerville, Indiana in 1933. He attended Ball State University and the Brooklyn Museum Art School in New York. He also attended the Art Institute of Chicago where he also worked as a technician for their ceramic department. Temple settled in Lambertville, New Jersey setting up his studio where he continued his line of tableware pottery. He later began teaching at the Philadelphia College of Art, Pratt Institute, and Swarthmore. He also travelled to teach workshops on art in Japan, New Zealand, England, and Spain. He died in Louisville, Kentucky in 2002.
