Lucille Brown Greene

American, (1903–1986)


Greene was a pioneering west coast Abstract Expressionist. Born in Los Angeles, she graduated from University of California at Los Angeles and studied during the 1940s with Stanton MacDonald Wright, Millard Sheets and Richard Haines. Greene resided most of her career in Long Beach and was also an art instructor at Santa Monica City College and board member/juror for the California Watercolor Society.
