John Taylor Arms

American, (1887–1953)

John Taylor Arms was born in Washington, D.C. in 1887. He attended Princeton University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Arms joined the United States Navy during World War I, and after his service as a Navy Officer he focused on etching. He has exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art. He died in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1953.
