Mexican, (1915–2006)
Raul Anguiano was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1915. He attended the Guadalajara Free School of Painting. Anguiano started his career as a muralist and founded the Popular Graphics Workshop which practiced printing techniques based on Mexico’s folkloric traditions. He taught at the Art Students League of New York, the Esmeralda Art School in Mexico, and at the University of Mexico City. Anguiano died in Mexico City, Mexico in 2006.
