Sorenson first explored art at the School of Art and Design at Alfred University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture in 1998. Immediately following graduation, Sorenson pursued a post-baccalaureate certificate in painting at the Studio Ats Center International in Florence, Italy, completing his studies a year later in 1999. Sorenson lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
