Lillian Elliott

American, (1930–1994)


Lillian Elliott was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1930. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in art education from Wayne State University in 1952, Elliott attended the Cranbrook Academy of Art, where she earned an MFA in painting in 1955. In the late 1950s, Elliott worked as a designer for the Ford Motor Company before moving to northern California with her husband and two children. Aside from her work as a studio artist, Elliott worked part time as an instructor at a number of art and academic institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area until her death in 1994.
