Myra Albert Wiggins was born in Salem, Oregon in 1859. She attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, Mills College in Oakland, California and the Art Students League in New York. Wiggins co-founded the Women’s Painters of Washington, a group that helped women overcome the limitations they faced as artists. She died at her studio in Seattle, Washington in 1956.
