Glenn Wessels

South African/American, (1895–1982)


Glenn Wessels was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1895. He attended California College of Arts and Crafts, the University of California, Berkeley, and the Academie Colarossi in Paris. Wessels became an illustrator for the San Francisco Call before starting his career as a professor. He taught at the California School of Arts and Crafts, Mills College in Oakland, Washington State College, and the University of California, Berkley. He died in Placerville, California in 1982.
