Peter Stackpole

American, (1913–1997)

Peter Stackpole was born in San Francisco, California in 1913. He attended schools in the San Francisco Bay area and Paris and was influenced by many of his father's peers. He worked for Life Magazine from the time it was founded until 1960. He taught photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.Stackpole died in Novato, California in 1997.
