American, (1929–1993)
Moishe Smith was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1929. He attended the New School of Social Research, the University of Iowa, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and the Academy of Florence. Smith taught at the University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, the University of Iowa and Utah State University until his death in Logan, Utah in 1993.
