American, b. 1937
Edward Ruscha was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1937. He attended the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California. After graduation, Ruscha worked for the Carson-Roberts Advertising Agency as a layout artist. He has also been a layout designerfor Artforum magazine and has taught printing and drawing at the University of California, Los Angeles as a visiting professor. He currently lives and works in Culver City, California.
