American, (1939–1998)
Eric Orr was born in Covington, Kentucky in 1939. He attended the University of Cincinnati, the New School of Social Research, the University of California Berkeley, and the University of Mexico. Orr was a civil rights worker in Mississippi until he moved to California where he put on shows and exhibits. He was associated with the Light and Space group whose concern was with the perceptual experience stemming from the viewer’s interaction with their work. He died in Venice, California in 1998.
