Francisco Mora

Mexican, (1922–2002)

Francisco Mora was born in Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico in 1922. He attended La Esmeralda, where he studied under painter Diego Rivera. After graduation he startedexhibiting with the Taller de Gráfica Popular. He was a founding member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana which is an institution dedicated to promoting Mexican contemporary art. Mora’s art has been exhibited in the Mississippi Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas. He died in Cuernavaca, Mexico in 2002.
