Allan McCollum

American, b. 1944

Allan McCollum was born in Los Angeles, California in 1944. He had no formal education in art and was self-taught. McCollum has been a visiting professor at the Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles, Florida State University, the Rhode Island School of Design, the University of South Florida, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has also been an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University in New York, a practicum supervisor at Bard College, and a senior critic in sculpture at Yale University. He currently lives in New York practicing his artwork, producing sculptures and experimenting with new ideas.
