Don Martin

American, (1931–1989)

Don Martin was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1931. He attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Martin moved to New York where he created illustrations for jazz records, and the magazine Fantasy and Galaxy. In 1956, he started his career with Madmagazine and created Captain Klutz. He also worked for Crackedmagazine before creating his own titledDon Martin Magazine. With failing eyesight, Martin was forced to reduce his production but continued to write comics until his death in Miami, Florida in 2000.
