American, (1911–1996)
Julia Farnsworth Lund-Wassmer was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1911. She attended the University of Utah where she illustrated The Pen College Literary Magazine. After graduation she began teaching at public schools in Salt Lake until she was appointed the State Art Director. Her program was to help beautify the community and to create jobs for artists hit hard by the Great Depression. She died in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1996.
