Anna Banana

American, (1940–2024)

Anna Banana was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1940. She attended the University of British Columbia. After graduation she taught at public schools for five years before marketing her work and creating her newsletter, the Banana Ragto reacha broader audience for her artwork. Banana became prominent in the mail art movement which is a populist artistic movement that focuses on sending small-scale works through the postal service. She currently lives in British Columbia, Canada.
